Tirta Gangga

Tirta Gangga Water Palace is a beautiful water park featured by the big ponds and pool with fresh water come from the mountain situated in Abang District, north part of Karangasem Regency. It is built in 1948 by the king of Karangasem, Anak Agung Agung Anglurah  Ketut Karangasem. Before this park is found, there is big spring founded in this area so the local community call this place as 'Embungan' that mean spring. This spring is used by the villagers around Tirta Gangga as the source of drink water and purification for the god, therefore this spring is keep secreted by the local people. From this spring, the Karangasem King had gotten the idea to build a park because it is featured by the big water resources and covered by the cool temperatures.

Tourist Destination

Tirta Gangga is a water park preferable as a bathing or swimming pool because the water coming out from the spring is very clear and cool that make the tourists who swim in this pool will feel fresh. In addition to have the clear and cool water, the temperatures are also cool that make the Tirta Gangga Park very enchanting among the tourists. Some building and decorations are intentionally made according to the spirit from Agung Karangasem Palace, therefore between Tirta Gangga Park and Sukasada Park are the one unit of relaxation place in east part of Bali. It is one of The Favorite Tourist Destination in east part of Bali.
