Beautiful Lotus Pond at Candidasa
1. Kerta Gosa Old Court Justice
Hall of Justice (Kerta Gosa), located in the center of Klungkung town in front of Klungkung Puputan Memorial. Built in 1710 by Dewa Agung the King of Klungkung. The ceiling of the hall completely covered inside with fine painting Kamasan Style. The story of painting is The Epic of life Balinese Journey of the soul. In the middle built Bale Kambang (Floating Hall), the ceiling full with Kamasan Painting. In the west of the hall there is Museum Semarajaya collected of the photos of the King and family in Balinese dress. Kertha Gosha entrance ticket cost IDR20 or around USD 1.5 per person.
2. Bukit Jambul
Bukit Jambul is the hill located in north of Klungkung, will take about 30 minutes drive after we visited Court Justice, it is part of Karangasem Regency. The view of the coast is very beautiful, overlooking to the black sand beach and small island of Nusa Penida and surrounded by clove plantation and the rice terraces.
3. Besakih Mother Temple
Besakih Mother Temple, located in slope of Mount Agung about 1000 meters above sea level. This is the first temple built in Bali or well known with Mother Temple built by the Javanese priest Sri Danghyang Dwijendra who traveled to Bali in 8th century. Besakih Temple has big complex of temple included the family temple who add by another Javanese priest Danghyang Nirartha in 16th century. The main temple courtyard is Penataran Agung has a triple throne called Padmasana Tiga with separate seats of the trinity gods Brahma, Vhisnu and Shiva. Besakih Mother Temple entrance ticket cost IDR60.000 or around USD5 per person. Local guide service fee cost IDR100.000 or around 7 per group. (must use local guide service as a local income)
4. Sibetan Village
As one of tourist destination in Karangasem, Sibetan village offers natural panorama (agro tourism). Sibetan village is 400-600 m above the sea level, with the average temperature of 20º-30º C. Its average rainfall is 1.567 mm - 20.000 mm per year. The cool climate and the comforting air make salak or skin snake fruit grows well in this area. Here, visitors can find various vegetations of salak with different tastes. The vast salak garden in this village is also interesting to see. Almost 81,12% of Sibetan's area, which is 1.125.000 hectares, is turned into salak garden. Thus, about 14 various vegetations of salak can be found here, in which it cannot be seen in other areas. Mostly, visitors come to Sibetan village to witness directly the complete cultivation process of salak, including its marketing process. 5. Tengenan Village
Tengenan Village, the village is occupied by Bali Aga people the original Balinese who arrive in Bali Bali before Majapahit arrival. Pandan war (Ngusaba Sambah Festival), will be held around May or June and Double ikat or Gringsing cloth well known from this village. The Village surrounded by the hill, most people in this village make textile well known with Geringsing Cloth. Need donation input in the box or No fixed entrance fee.
6. Candi Dasa Beach
Candi Dasa Beach, a tourist resort built in east Bali with a some hotel and restaurant. The beach is quiet and small boat lied a long the coast. A little bit inside Gili Tepekong island is good to do snorkeling, should be rent a boat to go to this island. It offer the chance to see a lot of coral fish. East part there is Candi Dasa Lagoon and Candi Dasa Temple, the temple located hillside across from the lagoon.
7. Goa Lawah (Bat Cave)
Bat Cave Temple (Goa Lawah Temple), the temple located in Pesinggahan Village, Klungkung regency. The temple built in 11th century by priest Mpu Kuturan or Mpu Raja kerta, this priest who created 4 concepts of temple in Bali. This is one important temple located near the ocean, specially use for Nyegara Gunung ceremony (Nyegara it's mean Ocean and Gunung it's mean Mountain). The Balinese people use Goa Lawah Temple for the ocean temple and Besakih Temple for the mountain temple. The cave in the cliff fully with thousand of the bats. Goa Lawah temple entrance ticket cost IDR50.000 or around USD3.5 per person.
